Voice to-do apps that assign tasks to people
You run a team. You want to say “Maria, send the proposal to the client by Friday” and find the task in Maria’s list, due Friday. Which voice to-do apps say they can do that, and in which languages? Here is what each company’s own pages say.
Quick answer
Todoist says a spoken task can go to a teammate: its 2026 changelog says Ramble assigns tasks to people in a shared project, on the web, desktop, Android and iOS.[2] VoiceTask’s release note mentions “Who”, but no sharing or team feature is documented.[17][19] Gemini, Microsoft To Do and nxt do not document assigning by voice.[5][13][20] Gemini adds tasks and reminders to your Google Tasks.[5] To Do assigns inside a shared list, and you type it.[12] For voice, Ramble and VoiceTask list Hindi.[1][17] The Gemini web app lists Hindi, but it has no Live and Google lists no languages for tasks.[8][6][5] Hindi and English mixed in one sentence is not documented by any of them. In NeoKaam, you say who and when, in Hindi, English or both, and each task goes to that person with that date.
I read each app’s own help pages, pricing pages and store listings. I did not create accounts on the other apps or install them, so this is not a test: it is what each company says its own app does. I make NeoKaam, one of the apps on this list.
What each app says it can do
From each company’s own pages, read on 19 October 2026 or the day before. Every cell in the other rows links to its page. “Not documented” means I did not find it on the company’s own pages: it does not mean the app cannot do it. I make NeoKaam, so it is the last row: read the others first.

What an “AI import” is. In NeoKaam, one voice note, typed message, spreadsheet or recorded meeting turned into tasks is one AI import. You check the tasks, then add them.[24]
Todoist Ramble: spoken tasks for people in a shared project
Ramble is Todoist’s voice capture. You talk, the tasks appear in a preview you can change, and you say “that’s all” or tap Add tasks. It picks the date, time, repeat, project, priority, section and label from what you say; a deadline and a duration need a paid plan.[1]
You can add several tasks in one session. Todoist says to pause between them and to “say each task clearly before moving to the next one”.[1]
For assigning, Todoist’s 2026 changelog lists three steps:[2]
- 16 April 2026: on the web, macOS, Windows, Linux and Android, Ramble can “delegate tasks to anyone sharing that project directly while capturing with your voice”.[2]
- 23 April 2026: the same on iOS, “as long as they’re already in the project”.[2]
- 25 June 2026: on iOS, through Ramble or Task Capture, you can assign any teammate, even one who is not in that project yet, with a heads-up before you save.[2]
Ramble works on the web, macOS, Windows, iPhone and iPad, and Android. A Wear OS beta sets only the name, the date and the priority. Ramble is not in the browser extensions, and it needs the internet.[1]
On the free Beginner plan, you get 10 Ramble sessions a month, shared with Task Capture Assist; Pro and Business have unlimited sessions.[1] Pro is $7/month, or $60/year ($5/month billed yearly). Business is $10/user/month, or $8/user/month billed yearly ($96/user/year).[4]
Gemini: tasks and reminders for your list
Google’s help page says you can ask the Gemini app to add tasks and reminders: from details you give, from a conversation or from a photo of a list. It can then show them, change a date, mark them done, rename or delete them. Its example has a date and a time: “Remind me on [date] at [time] to [task]”.[5]
You need to be signed in, with Keep Activity on and Google Workspace connected to Gemini Apps on the same account, and it does not work in Gemini in Google Messages.[5] On Android, you can use Google Tasks in a Gemini Live chat; Live is not in the Gemini web app.[6]
No Gemini help page I read says it gives a task to another person.[5][6] In Google Tasks itself, you assign in a Google Chat space, to other members of the space,[10] or from a checklist in Google Docs, on a work or school account, to people in your domain.[11] Neither page mentions Gemini. For the details, see the post on Google Tasks and Microsoft To Do.
The Gemini web app works in more than 70 languages, Hindi among them.[8] Google says Gemini “can understand and reply in any supported language when you type, or speak in Gemini Live”.[7] Google’s tasks help page lists no languages, so adding a task by voice in Hindi is not documented.[5]
The tasks help page names no paid plan.[5] Gemini’s free plan is $0/month and includes Gemini Live.[9]
Microsoft To Do: assigning is typed
In To Do, “You can assign tasks to any member of a shared list, including yourself”: you open the task and choose Assign to. On Windows, you can also type @ and a member’s name when you create a task.[12] That is typing, not speech.
The one voice page for To Do that I found is for Android: you say “Ok Google, add a note…” and pick Microsoft To Do. It says nothing about dates, assigning or languages.[13] To Do’s App Store listing does not mention voice.[16]
Copilot in Planner (preview) adds suggested tasks from a typed prompt, and it is “available only with premium plans”. Its page does not say whether Copilot can assign tasks to people.[14] Microsoft 365 Copilot also has voice features, but Microsoft’s page about them does not mention tasks, Planner or To Do.[15]
To Do itself is free on the App Store, and its app is in 34 languages, Hindi among them.[16]
VoiceTask and nxt: voice first
VoiceTask
Here, VoiceTask means “VoiceTask: Voice To-Do & Notes” on the App Store and Google Play.[17][18] You say one sentence, and the tasks appear while you talk, with dates, reminders and repeats. In its own example, “Call the dentist Tuesday at 9, buy milk on the way home, and remind me every Monday to send the report.” gives three tasks. You can fix a task by voice (“actually, make it Wednesday”), and nothing is added until you tap Add.[17][18]
Its 1.6.0 release note, of 25 September 2026, says you can “assign tasks to people with ‘Who’”.[17][18] No page I read explains what “Who” does, and no sharing or team feature is documented.[17][18][19]
Its store text says you can speak in many languages, Hindi among them, and its site says the AI “automatically detects your language”. Hindi and English mixed in one sentence is not documented.[17][19] It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac with Apple silicon, Apple Vision and Android.[17][18] The free plan limits voice; Pro has unlimited voice, at $9.99 a month (Pro Monthly) on the App Store.[17]
nxt
“nxt: AI to do lists & tasks” says: “Simply speak your tasks, and nxt captures and organizes them effortlessly”.[20][21] Its site’s example is “remind me to pick up groceries tomorrow at 5”; no rule for dates is stated.[22] Whether one recording makes several tasks is not stated either.
Assigning, sharing and teams are not documented: the listing describes your own tasks, synced across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.[20][21][22]
The app is listed in English and 30 more languages, Hindi among them; its voice languages are not listed.[20] It runs on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac (M1 or later) and Apple Vision, and on Android.[20][21] After a 7-day free trial, voice input needs a paid plan: nxt plus, $7.99 (1 month) or $59.99 (1 year) on the App Store.[20][23]
NeoKaam: the person you name, the date you say
I make NeoKaam, so read this part with that in mind. On your phone or in your browser, you say what needs doing, in Hindi, English or both in one sentence. Its AI writes the tasks, gives each one to the person you name and sets the date you say. If you say no date, the task has none. Nothing is saved until you check the tasks and tap Add.[24]
One sentence can hold work for two people: “Maria, send the proposal to the client by Friday, and Rahul, book the review meeting for tomorrow” gives Maria a task due Friday and Rahul one due tomorrow. The name you say must belong to someone in the project; if the AI cannot match it, you pick the person in the preview.
Each voice note is one AI import. The Free plan includes 5 AI imports a month for each person. Paid plans are one price for the whole team: Team is $40 a month for a pack of up to 10 members.[24] For every plan, see what a team really pays.
Where the others are better
- Todoist assigns by voice, on every main platform. Its changelog documents spoken assigning in shared projects since April 2026, and on iOS, a teammate who is not in the project yet can get the task, with a heads-up before you save.[2]
- Todoist understands more languages. Ramble lists many, Hindi among them, and runs on the web, macOS, Windows, iPhone, iPad, Android and, in beta, Wear OS.[1]
- Todoist sets more by voice. Project, priority, section, label and repeat, plus a deadline and a duration on paid plans, and you can fix a task while you talk (“Actually, I meant…”).[1]
- Gemini has a $0/month plan, and works on Android. Gemini Live can use Google Tasks, Keep and Calendar in a Live chat on Android, and a photo of a list can become tasks.[6][9][5]
- Microsoft To Do is free, with shared lists. You can assign a task to anyone in a shared list, typed, and the app is in 34 languages, Hindi among them.[12][16]
- VoiceTask shows tasks while you talk. You can fix one by voice (“actually, make it Wednesday”), and nothing is added until you tap Add.[17]
- nxt has an Apple Watch app. It also suggests what to do next.[20]
What NeoKaam does not have yet
- Voice in English and Hindi only. And the two mixed in one sentence. Todoist lists many more languages.[1]
- The person must already be in the project. A name you say is matched to someone in the project. If no one matches, you pick the person in the preview.
- List and board views only.
- Sheets on the web only. A spreadsheet import reads up to 300 rows, and only on the web.[24]
- Web app mostly in English. The phone apps are in English and Hindi.[24]
- No desktop or watch app. It runs on iPhone, Android and the web.
- No time tracking, dependencies or custom fields.
If your team speaks Hindi, or mixes Hindi and English
Many teams do not speak one language at a time. A manager may say “Ramesh, kal tak client ko invoice bhej dena”: Hindi in Latin letters, with English words in the middle. Here is what each company says about it.
- Voice in Hindi. Todoist’s Ramble[1] and VoiceTask[17] list Hindi among the languages you can speak. The Gemini web app lists Hindi,[8] but Google’s tasks help page lists no languages, so adding a task by voice in Hindi is not documented.[5] Microsoft lists no voice languages for To Do,[13] and nxt does not list its voice languages.[20]
- Hindi and English in one sentence. Not documented by Todoist, Google, Microsoft, VoiceTask or nxt.[1][5][13][17][20] NeoKaam understands Hindi, English or both in one sentence.
- The app’s own menus in Hindi. Microsoft To Do’s app[16] and nxt’s app[20] list Hindi among their languages. Hindi is not among Todoist’s app languages.[3] NeoKaam’s phone apps are in English and Hindi, and its web app is mostly in English.[24]
Whatever the app, read the preview before you save: a name or a date can be misheard in any language.
Try it yourself
Say each sentence to any voice to-do app. I have not run these sentences in any app, NeoKaam included: this is a list to try, not a test result. After each one, check four things:
- Did it hear the words right?
- Is the person set as the assignee, not just written in the title?
- Is the date right?
- Is the task in the language you spoke?
“Maria, send the proposal to the client by Friday.”
English. One person, a weekday.
CheckMariaFriday
“Ask Kenji to book the venue for the team offsite by the 15th.”
English, with the name in the middle and the date as a number.

“David, review the budget tomorrow morning, and Aisha, send it to the bank on Monday.”
English. Two people, two tasks, two dates, in one sentence.

Which one fits
- Your team already works in Todoist: Ramble assigns spoken tasks to people in your shared projects.[2]
- You want voice tasks for your own list, on Android: Gemini with Google Tasks (Google’s tasks help page names no paid plan).[5][6]
- Your company runs on Microsoft 365: assign in To Do’s shared lists, typed, and look at Copilot in Planner on a premium plan.[12][14]
- You want a voice-first to-do list for yourself: VoiceTask or nxt, on Apple devices and Android.[17][18][20][21]
- Your team speaks Hindi and English, often in one sentence, and each task should reach a person: NeoKaam.
Questions people ask
Which voice to-do apps can assign a task to a teammate?
Todoist’s 2026 changelog says Ramble can assign a spoken task to people in a shared project, on the web, desktop, Android and iOS.[2] NeoKaam gives each task to the person you name. VoiceTask’s release note mentions “Who”, but no sharing or team feature is documented.[17] Gemini, Microsoft To Do and nxt do not document assigning by voice.[5][13][20]
Does Todoist Ramble understand Hindi?
Todoist’s Ramble help page lists Hindi among its voice languages.[1] It does not say whether Ramble understands Hindi and English mixed in one sentence. Hindi is not among Todoist’s app languages.[3]
Can Gemini add a task for someone else?
Google’s help page says Gemini adds tasks and reminders, with a date, to your Google Tasks. No Gemini page I read says it gives a task to another person.[5][6] In Google Tasks, you assign in a Chat space, or from a Docs checklist on a work or school account.[10][11]
Can Microsoft To Do take a task by voice?
Microsoft’s one voice page for To Do is for Android: you say “Ok Google, add a note…” and pick To Do. It says nothing about dates or assigning.[13] Assigning in To Do is typed, in a shared list.[12]
What does voice cost in each app?
Todoist: 10 Ramble sessions a month on the free Beginner plan, and unlimited on Pro ($7/month, or $60/year) and Business.[1][4] Gemini: Google’s tasks help page names no paid plan, and the free plan is $0/month.[5][9] VoiceTask: Pro, $9.99 a month (Pro Monthly) on the App Store.[17] nxt: nxt plus, after a 7-day free trial.[20][23] NeoKaam: the Free plan includes 5 AI imports a month for each person, and paid plans are one price for the whole team.[24]
Did you test these apps?
No. I read each company’s own help pages, pricing pages and store listings, on 19 October 2026 or the day before. I have not run the Try-it sentences in any app.
Checked on 19 October 2026
I read every page on 19 October 2026 or the day before. This post says what each company’s own pages say: I did not install or test the other apps. “Not documented” means the page I read does not say it, not that the app cannot do it. Features and prices change, so check the company’s own page before you decide. If a line here no longer matches the company’s page, the company’s page is right. If you find a mistake, write to [email protected] and I will fix it.
