The short answer

Your own list, or your team’s work.

  • Google Tasks, if you live in Gmail.

It is free, it sits in the side panel of Gmail and Calendar, and a task with a date shows on your calendar.

  • Microsoft To Do, if you live in Outlook.

It is free on iPhone, Android, Windows and the web, and your tasks sync with Outlook Tasks.

  • NeoKaam, to give work to your team.

Say it once, in Hindi, English or both: each task goes to the person you name, with the date you say. Record a meeting, and check each task before you confirm.

NeoKaam vs Google Tasks + Microsoft To Do
What you needNeoKaamGoogle TasksMicrosoft To Do
Give a task to a teammate
Yes. Yes, to anyone in the project, with a date
Partly. Only in a Google Chat space, to its members, or from a Google Docs checklist. Docs needs a work or school account, and the person must be in your domain. A shared task cannot repeat or have subtasks[2][3][4]
Partly. Only inside a shared list, to its members. Each person needs a Microsoft account, and a work list stays inside your place of work or school. Moving the task to another list removes the assignment[15][16][28]
Say a sentence, get tasks with a person and a date
Yes. On phone and web, in Hindi, English or both
Partly. Google Assistant adds a task to your own list by voice, as in “remind me to call Mom at noon tomorrow”. The Gemini app can also add tasks to your list. Google’s pages do not mention giving one to someone else[7][8]
No voice input is listed. When you type on Windows, @ picks a list member, and a date in the title is recognised in English only[15][18][21]
Record a meeting, get the action items
Yes. Up to 90 minutes, on the phone or in the browser, with the transcript to check first
Partly. Google Meet’s “Take notes for me” writes next steps, and can add action items to Google Tasks, rolling out from 5 October 2026. It needs a paid work or school plan and a computer, and its languages do not include Hindi[9][10][11]
Partly. In Teams, the meeting recap suggests action items, with a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. The announcement does not say they reach To Do[26]
A spreadsheet becomes tasks
Partly. The AI reads an .xlsx or .csv file on the web, up to 300 rows at a time, with a preview you can change
No import is listed in Google’s Tasks help[1][5]
No. No CSV import. A Microsoft Q&A moderator said in January 2024 that it is “not yet available”[23]
App in Hindi
Yes. The phone apps are in English and Hindi. The web app is mostly English
Yes. The iPhone app lists Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu[6]
Yes. The app is in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. Marathi, Gujarati, Bangla and more are on the web only[20]
Price
Team: ₹790 a month for up to 10 members in India, $40 outside India; bigger packs for 20 and 30 members

Checked on 18 October 2026. Google Tasks and Microsoft To Do are free. Google’s and Microsoft’s prices are list prices per user a month in India, before tax: Google’s with a one-year commitment, billed monthly; Microsoft’s paid yearly. Google Tasks and Google Workspace are trademarks of Google LLC. Microsoft To Do and Microsoft 365 are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. NeoKaam is not affiliated with either.

Where Google Tasks and Microsoft To Do are better

  • Free, and already in your email. Google Tasks sits in the side panel of Gmail and Calendar, and “Add to Tasks” turns an email into a task. To Do syncs with Outlook Tasks, and on a work or school account a flagged email becomes a task.[1][5][13][22]
  • Give tasks in the tools a team already uses. In a Google Chat space, or from a Google Docs checklist, the task reaches the other person’s own Tasks list. Docs needs a work or school account. In To Do, you can give a task to any member of a shared list, even between two personal Microsoft accounts.[2][3][4][15][16]
  • Google’s assistants add tasks. Say “Hey Google, remind me…” to Google Assistant, or ask the Gemini app, and the task goes in your own list.[7][8]
  • Meeting notes, on paid plans. On a paid Google Workspace plan, Meet’s notes list next steps and can add action items to Google Tasks. With a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, the Teams recap suggests action items, and the Planner Agent, announced in April 2026, makes tasks from email, chats, files or meeting content.[9][10][24][25][26]
  • Planner tasks beside your own. On a work account with a Planner licence, the Planner tasks given to you show in To Do, next to lists such as Important, Planned and Flagged email.[15][17][19]
  • More Indian languages. The Google Tasks iPhone app lists Hindi and eight more Indian languages. The To Do app is in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, with more on the web.[6][20]
  • A Windows app. To Do is free on iPhone, Android, Windows and the web.[13]

Where NeoKaam is better

  • Give a task to anyone in the project. Each person gets it in their own list, with a date. It needs no Chat space and no Docs work account. Add people to the project, each with a free account.
  • Say it, do not type it. One sentence becomes tasks for the person you name, with the date you say, in Hindi, English or both.
  • Meetings become action items. Record up to 90 minutes, on the phone or in the browser, check the transcript, and confirm the tasks it finds. The Free plan includes 5 AI imports a month.

Trying it

Try it with your team this week.

  1. Make a project

Create a free account, then a project for the work you give out.

  2. Invite your team

Each person needs a free account. Invite them by email or link.

  3. Say the work

Say what needs doing, or record the meeting. Each task goes to the person you name, with the date you say.

Questions about switching

  • Can Google Tasks or Microsoft To Do give a task to someone?

Yes, in some places. In Google, you assign a task in a Google Chat space, to its members, or from a Google Docs checklist. Docs needs a work or school account, and the person must be in your domain. In To Do, you assign a task inside a shared list, and each person needs a Microsoft account. In NeoKaam, you give a task to anyone in the project, with a date.

  • Does the other person need NeoKaam?

Yes. Each person needs a free NeoKaam account, in the phone app or on the web. You invite them by email or link.

  • Is NeoKaam free?

The Free plan has up to 10 members, 3 team projects and 5 AI imports a month, with no credit card. The Team plan is one price for the team: ₹790 a month for up to 10 members in India, $40 outside India.

  • Can I bring my Google Tasks or To Do lists into NeoKaam?

There is no direct import from either. If your tasks are in an .xlsx or .csv file, NeoKaam’s AI reads up to 300 rows at a time on the web, and you check each task before you confirm.

Your list in Gmail or Outlook. Your team’s work in NeoKaam.
